About us
Read and Relax is the culmination of a lifelong love of books and bookshops. Opening a bookshop of my own, in a place I have called home for over 10 years is a dream come true.
The beautiful town of Kinross sits on the shores on Loch Leven and is a thriving small town, but it has been without a bookshop for the entire time I have lived here. Once I saw that a shop had become available, I decided to take the plunge and set up a bookshop myself.
Read and Relax has a selection of new and second-hand books for all ages and serves the wonderful Unorthodox Roasters’ coffee which is roasted right here in Kinross.

Browse our selection of both new and second-hand books. There are books for all ages and if you can’t see one you would like, ask us – we will happily order it in for you.
For the love of the planet
In a time where environmental concerns are greater than ever, I felt it was important to offer a good range of second-hand books to save these books from landfill and place less demand for more new copies to be published.
For the love of coffee
Our coffee is supplied by our lovely neighbours Unorthodox Roasters, who provide ethically sourced single origin speciality coffee. We also serve tea and juices.
